Education Assistance

We believe building brighter financial futures begins with supporting our own employees — both outside and inside the classroom. That’s why our education assistance starts day one of employment for full-time, flex part-time and regular part-time employees. Our Education Assistance program consists of three programs:

  • The Discover College Commitment
  • Tuition Assistance
  • Tuition Reimbursement

The Discover College Commitment

We are proud to offer you a full-ride college education benefit, providing U.S.-based employees the opportunity to participate in one of several select high-quality, fully paid, online bachelor’s degrees for full-time, flex part-time and regular part-time employees.* We’ll cover all costs including tuition, required fees, books and supplies. The Discover College Commitment partners with the following universities and degree programs:

Wilmington University

  • Organizational Management (B.S.)
  • Business Management (B.S.)
  • Computer Science (B.S.)
  • Computer and Network Security (B.S.)

Brandman University

  • Business Administration, Standard Credit Hour (B.B.A.)
  • Business Administration, Competency-based (B.B.A.)

University of Florida (via UF Online)

  • Business Administration (B.S.)

You will also have access to educational guidance, counseling and coaching to help you make the most of your academic experience.

* The Discover College Commitment: Only U.S. employees classified as a full-time, flex part-time or regular part-time employee (“Employee”) are eligible for this benefit for their first bachelor’s degree, which covers tuition and required supplies, books and fees after grants have been applied. Discover will pre-pay tuition directly to the university. Expenditures on qualified fees, books and supplies will be reimbursed. In addition, to be eligible, employee must be in active status, in good standing with the company, and maintain a 2.0 grade point average or higher as described in the Discover's Education Assistance Program Handbook. Employees must utilize the company process to apply for this benefit and complete all required company forms, university application(s) and a Free Application for Federal Aid (“FAFSA”). Employees terminated from the Company are required to refund to the Company all covered tuition, fees, and reimbursements received within 24 months prior to the Employee’s last day of employment.

Tuition Assistance

We know from experience that continuing education programs provide measurable value to you and Discover. That’s why we offer academic and financial counseling and tuition assistance for eligible employees who choose to participate in a degree program from a curated network of universities.

Discover covers 90% of the annual tuition costs (that remain after grants and student aid have been applied) up to the following annual caps:

  • $5,250 for an Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree
  • $10,000 for Graduate Degree

Additionally, you can take advantage of deferred tuition at any of our in-network universities. With tuition deferment, employees can get started right away and pay only 10% of the tuition cost at the end of the term.

Tuition Reimbursement

Eligible employees can pursue a business-related or job-related degree at any fully accredited university.  You will pay tuition out of pocket and then submit a request for reimbursement.

Discover covers 90% of the annual tuition costs (after grants and student aid have been applied) up to the following annual caps:

  • $2,500 for an Associate’s Degree
  • $5,250 for a Bachelor’s Degree
  • $10,000 for Graduate Degree

You are responsible for any remaining tuition costs.
