Review Your Benefit Options
ALEX is an interactive plan selection tool that can help you decide which benefit options are right for you and your family. It also helps you determine how much to contribute to your Flexible Spending Account(s) or Health Savings Account, if applicable.
Confirm Coverage for Your Dependents
Go to myHR or speak with a myHR Representative to review your dependents’ coverage and update personal information, including adding Social Security numbers.
If you are adding a dependent, you will be asked to provide the dependent’s Social Security number.
It is very important that you ensure the dependents you are covering are eligible for coverage under the Discover benefit plans. You will be asked to provide documentation to verify eligibility for each dependent you enroll. If you do not provide documentation in a timely manner, your dependent will be deemed ineligible and dropped from coverage.
Confirm Your Beneficiary Information
Enrollment is a good time to review your beneficiary designations and update them if necessary. You can do this while enrolling online or by calling myHR.
- To enroll online, log on to myHR by clicking on the myHR tile on the DLife home page or from home at digital.alight.com/discover. On the myHR home page, click the Annual Enrollment tile or the link in the Action Needed pop-up box.
- To enroll by phone, call a myHR Representative toll free 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
What Happens If I Don't Enroll?
In general, your elections will carry over into next year at the same coverage level, with the exception of:
- Flexible Spending Accounts. You will not be enrolled in the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and/or Dependent Care FSA unless you make this election each year. Remember, the IRS has rules about money left in FSAs at year-end. Amounts up to $550 in your Health Care FSA will automatically roll over into your 2021 Health Care FSA (regular or limited purpose). Amounts above $550 will be forfeited. There is no rollover feature for the Dependent Care FSA and any unused amounts are forfeited.
